The series is geared up to teachers and heads of families wishing to entertain and educate their children as they explore England's "West Country". Technical terms are kept to a minimum but the series has attracted the attention of experts unfamiliar with the area. The first of the series takes in fossil hunting and was first published in 2003. Each book is 56 pages long with a minimum of 40 original line drawings by the author whose artwork has been exhibited at the The Royal Academy Summer exhibition, The Royal Society of Painter Etchers and Engravers, The Centre National de Paris etc.
